DESCRIPTION:Singer-songwriter Jennifer Berezan\, an artist who called Edmonton home for a period of time\, returns to Edmonton for a concert at the Cosmopolitan Music Society in the heart of Strathcona on Saturday May 4.\n\nBerezan comes to Edmonton with a deep songbook that now covers ten album releases that started with her 1988 release Eye of the Storm. Other titles include Returning (2002) that was a cross-cultural work incorporating chants and recorded in a 6000 year old temple\, her 2005 offering End of Desire that included guest performances from Bruce Cockburn and Emily Sailers of the Indigo Girls\, and her most recent release Belonging that was released in late 2022. Belonging has received critical acclaim and great press including a feature story in a European edition of Rolling Stone magazine.\n\nFor this concert Berezan will be in the company of singers Chris Webster and Anthony Costello. Webster has opened for kd lang\, The Band\, Asleep at the Wheel and is featured on countless albums. DESCRIPTION:Multi Juno Award winning roots music artist Lester Quitzau\, and one of Canada’s most creative\, tasteful and multi award winning drummers – Sandro Dominelli will be performing at Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre (OSPAC) 8426 Gateway Boulevard in Edmonton on May 24. \nPresented by the Cosmopolitan Music Society\, the duo will perform new material as well as fresh interpretations of songs from Lester’s 35 year career span. Many of Quitzau’s followers have watched his career with love and loyalty in what began as a solid traditional folk/ blues foundation apprenticeship in the funky working-class bars of Alberta’s capital city\, to that which has grown into an eclectic and constantly evolving musical journey. \nHis unique style and fluidity on slide\, acoustic and electric guitars\, coupled with well crafted songs and warm vocals\, are the fruits of this musical journey. \nHaving played together in many situations\, beginning 29 years ago with the then touted supergroup\, ‘ A Love Supreme’ \, Lester Quitzau and Sandro Dominelli\, will again explore the space between the notes\, as much as the notes themselves\, locking into open spontaneous grooves where anything is possible. \nTickets are $30 (including taxes + service charges) | Bar / concession will be available. \nWhen: Friday\, May 24th doors at 7 pm\, show at 7:30 pm \nWhere: 8426 Gateway Blvd
