In this 2 evening workshop \, you will gain insight into the historical and cultural importance of Arabic calligraphy and develop your skills. Learn to form the 28 letters of Kufic Script properly and come away from the class with new skills and new appreciation of the ancient art of writing by hand\, not keyboard! One of the biggest challenges for Najm’s students is how to learn to write from right to left. Through well-honed teaching techniques and exercises\, Najm shows his students how to master this form of writing and in the process\, challenges them to a new way of creative thinking. Whether or not you are a calligrapher\, you will be intrigued by the new possibilities in mark making\, and your understanding of form and space will gain precision and depth. By the completion of your course\, you will be able to write your name in the Kufi script! \nAbout the Instructor: \n\nWelcome to the exquisite world of Arabic calligraphy!
