Not to mention that entry is FREE! \nEdmonton\, AB – Storytelling – Past\, Present\, Future. Like many crafts\, storytelling is an evolving practice. For African\, Black and Caribbean communities storytelling has taken shape in many forms. From oral traditions\, to music and dance the art of storytelling remains a pillar for our identities. Stories tell us about our history\, help us make sense of our present\, and give us hope for the future. \nTo capture the transforming essence of storytelling\, YEG TheComeUp will be hosting Melanin Narratives VII – a multi-media art showcase presenting the talent of local Black artists. The theme we will be exploring is storytelling – past\, present and future. Our goal is to shine a light on the power of stories to transcend time and space while also being told in new and innovative ways. Through our showcase\, artists of various disciplines will be given a platform to share their stories and their creative approach to telling them.
