DESCRIPTION:Thrift is thriving in Alberta\, enabling Goodwill Industries of Alberta to\nmake a difference\, strengthening communities and lives\, through the power of work and the dignity of a\njob.\nTo celebrate the thrift community\, and individuals with disabilities across the capital region\, for the\nsecond year in a row Goodwill is hosting the Goodwill Fashion Show on Whyte Avenue in Old\nStrathcona from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. This outdoor event will take place in the Goodwill Whyte Avenue\nparking lot at 10110 82 Ave NW. Models will be made up volunteers from Goodwill’s Mission Impact\nprogram\, a program specializing in finding work opportunities and job training for those with barriers or\ndisabilities\, as well as special appearances by Kello Inclusive models who also star on the CBC hit TV\nshow ‘PUSH’. Kello Inclusive is a disability focused media company\, demonstrating strength and beauty\nof disability.\nThese models will “Work the Runway” showcasing a variety of styles from Canadian tuxedos to 80s\nvintage that can be found at your local thrift store. With a live DJ on-site\, and patio season in full effect\,\nWhyte Ave will be the place to be!\nThis event is an opportunity for Goodwill’s Mission Impact participants to express themselves\, be\ncreative\, and show the world how second-hand clothing is a perfect outlet for self-expression!\nExperience Edmonton’s diversity and the multitude of talented and remarkable individuals that form the\nfabric of our beloved city through this event and Goodwill’s collaboration with Kello Inclusive. This\nextraordinary event showcases stars from CBC’s sensational series PUSH\, making it an unmissable affair\nthat captures the vibrant spirit of our community.\nFor everyone attending\, we encourage you to bring at least one item for donation\, as you will be making\nan impact on those with a disability to find and gain meaningful employment.
