Canadian Road Cycling Championships

June 23, 2022 - June 27, 2022

Old Strathcona is the place to catch Criterium races as part of The Canadian Road Cycling Championships June 23-27.

The championships are the most prestigious cycling event on Canada’s racing calendar and Edmonton is hosting in 2022 and 2023. Since riders must compete at Nationals to be considered for the National Team, this event sees participation from the highest level of cyclists in Canada and also features some of Canada’s top professional riders, who rarely have the opportunity to race on home soil.

The Canadian Road Championships is comprised of three separate events: Time Trial, Road Race and Criterium for Junior, Elite and Para athletes. The full event is delivered over five days of exciting activities that draw spectators from all over Canada.

The Criterium for Junior and Elite riders is Monday, June 27 in Old Strathcona. Riders will be taking over Whyte Avenue for this fun and challenging race. Come down to the Ave. to cheer on racers as they loop through the neighbourhood.
