Save the Date – November 30, 2024

Old Strathcona comes to LIGHT in November at our annual winter festival!
Kick off the holiday season with this light up event that brings plenty of vibrancy and family fun to the area. With beautiful twinkling winter lights all over the park, hot chocolate, carolers, and plenty of winter giveaways, there is something for everybody.

Lights

Watch as Wilbert McIntyre Park transforms into a wonderful array of light across its gazebo, trees, and sky. Old Strathcona becomes a winter wonderland with the snap of a finger and sets the stage for a night to remember.

Activities

Winter Whyte Light Up features a variety of indoor and outdoor activities all evening. Outside you will find live music and street performance to watch and winter activities to celebrate the cold. Visit our indoor partner venues Edmonton Public Library, The Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market and Fringe Theatre, where you can find more crafts for the kids and ticketed shows! All activities are FREE!
The streetcar will be decorated for photo opportunities, and a short ride along the line!

Giveaways & Donations

Spin the wheel to win exclusive Old Strathcona merchandise or visit one of our partner tents to see what they have to offer! Make sure to swing by our hot chocolate stands to keep warm through the evening.

Every year we collect donations for various agencies in our community and city. Last year, we collected donations for the Edmonton Food Bank at the Streetcar, and Old Strathcona Youth Society (OSYS) donation box in the Farmers’ Market.

Parking & Mobility

Looking for a place to park or lock up your bike? We have hundreds of parking stalls, on street parking and the whole lot by the Farmer’s Market along Gateway Blvd and 83 Ave available. Check out our Old Strathcona Parking map for details.
