SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP
The Shop Hop returns to Old Strathcona this year with an interesting twist: a scavenger hunt! From August 12th to August 18th, you will be able to explore all Old Strathcona has to offer AND get rewarded for it.
Using the Goosechase app, players can access the list of the missions, upload pictures and videos of themselves completing missions, and accumulate points to be entered into prize draws. Missions include trying out a popsicle from Edmonton’s first popsicle shop Café Bel-Air, finding your favourite book to recommend at one of our local bookstores, and snapping a picture of the iconic Old Strathcona gates. Each mission completed awards players with points that will add up to qualify them for different prize tiers. Prizes will include three gift cards, two $50 gift cards and one grand prize $100 gift card, to participating Old Strathcona businesses. The more missions you complete, the better your chance to win!
Some businesses, such as DaDeO and Boocha, have offered discounts to Shop Hop players as they complete missions at their locations. So if you were looking for an excuse to spend the day exploring the area, there is no better time!
Download the Goosechase app and use the code EPG7RV to join the game!
If you missed out on grabbing a summer tote bag at our Pet Prowl, this is your second chance to grab one. Our ambassadors will be on location at the Whyte Ave High Level Streetcar Stop Saturday, August 13th handing out totes, as well as helping players download the app and get registered. Download the app and join the game to get your free tote from the ambassadors.
Contest runs from August 12, 2022 until August 18, 2022 11:59PM MST. Open to local residents only in the Edmonton area. No purchase necessary for lowest prize tier. Entries are not limited but only one gift may be awarded per entrant. Winner will be announced August 19, 2022 at 12:00PM MST. This contest is not administered by or affiliated with Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Photos uploaded to the goosechase app may be shared to the Old Strathcona social media accounts.
