Wander Whyte Avenue, up side streets, and down back lanes to discover nearly 60 murals, graffiti walls, and street art. There’s no other neighbourhood like Old Strathcona and you won’t find this art anywhere else in Edmonton.
Over the last few years, the Old Strathcona Business Association (OSBA) has commissioned and sponsored a number of artists and festivals to add art to walls throughout District Whyte. This includes Nextfest, Mural Massive and the street art festival Rust Magic. Every year more and more murals pop up in the neighbourhood.
With so much to see, we had to create a map to help capture it all.
Our new mural map is an illustrated guide to the multiple works of art found around Old Strathcona, and a few just outside the business district too. The map’s permanent home on our website will allow regular updates as new murals are added, with a digital listing refreshed in real-time.
Find your favourites, discover new art and artists and share it all with the world.
Be sure to tag us – @OldStrathcona – on all your social media sharing of murals in Old Strathcona too!
For a quick look at the murals, scroll through the list below. You can also download a PDF postcard of the map for your walk around Whyte.
The OSBA would like to thank Kim Fjordbotten and The Paint Spot for years of work to champion, sponsor, mentor and help bring not just this map but many of the murals around Old Strathcona to life.
