We thought it might be time for a little patio round up! Sunny days come in short supply in Edmonton. That’s why we love our patios so much! We also want our community to safely continue supporting our restaurants and cafes. With the City of Edmonton recently passing a mandatory mask bylaw for indoor public spaces effective August 1; we would like to remind you how to responsibly make your way to your favourite patios; and maybe help you discover a new favourite too!

Mask Up!

We recommend wearing your mask before and after arriving at your destination. Some areas in the district have narrow sidewalks and limited space for lineups. This might unintentionally put you within 2 meters of someone outside of your cohort. As per the new bylaw, once you’ve entered the restaurant or cafe you are required to wear a face covering / mask until seated. So why not save yourself the trouble and mask up ahead of time!

Be Patient & Kind

Please remember that our businesses are taking every possible action to ensure the safety of their staff and customers. These safety precautions will help them stay open and continue to serve our community! Businesses can deny service to anyone who refuses to comply with the bylaw. But, with your cooperation, we can all continue to enjoy the rest of our summer patio season!
