Patio Season is Here!
We are home to more than 60 patios at local restaurants and bars in Old Strathcona. Whether you want to people-watch on the busy sidewalks of the avenue, enjoy a cozy courtyard meal, or see it all from a rooftop, we’ve got a patio for you.
But What About My Pet?!
Don’t worry, there are plenty of spots that welcome dogs on their patios, just look out for the paw print icon on the map and narrow it down from there (easier said than done, we know)! 🐾
Most patios are weather dependent so be prepared to be seated inside if it’s raining! 🌧️
Where To Go

Patios are grouped into four different types:
- Rooftop patios are on roofs (okay, that was obvious)
- Storefront patios are typically on sidewalks and often have some kind of fence around them (think Julio’s Barrio)
- Courtyard patios are usually beside or behind restaurants and bars, separate from the main sidewalk and sometimes tucked away
- Bistro patios can be just a few tables & chairs on the sidewalk, and are the perfect way to enjoy the sights & sounds of the avenue
