Summer is patio season in Old Strathcona

Calle Mexico patio decorated with colourful hanging lights

There are more than 60 patios at restaurants and bars in Old Strathcona. Whether you want to people-watch on the busy sidewalks of Whyte Ave., enjoy a cozy courtyard meal, or see it all from a rooftop, there’s a patio for you.

To help you find the perfect patio, check out the map below to explore all of our patios. ????

We grouped the patios into four different types:

  • Rooftop patios are on roofs. (OK, that was obvious.)
  • Boardwalks are the larger patios on sidewalks that often have some kind of fence around them (like Julio’s Barrio)
  • Courtyard patios are beside or behind restaurants and bars, separated from sidewalks and sometimes tucked away
  • Bistro patios can be just a few tables on the sidewalk, and are the perfect way to enjoy Old Strathcona atmosphere

You can also check out the patio list at Google Maps directly by clicking the “View Larger Map” icon in the top right (similar to a “fullscreen” icon) or at the permanent URL.

Please confirm accessibility of patios with the business.

If lists are more your thing, you can check out all the restaurants and cafes with patios and outdoor seating in the dropdown lists below.
